Immersive storytelling
Individual project - Escaperoom
Using Unity as engine, I created a small world with its own story. The player is meant to escape the room using a key that is to be retrieved. This is meant as an exercise to improve our understanding of programming and Unity functions. I made a custom sound design and implemented it in the engine. At last, I used Logic Pro X to create a simple composition that is playing in the background.
Audio Design
For this game, I was in charge of the audio design and music. Because the audio in a game is only added at one of the last stages of the project, I created a simple Unity scene to test the sounds and create the right balance of the audio and music.
In the second video, you can see an audio design experiment I did with the existing game Gris. Which is meant to be immersive. I also added some synths as a simple soundtrack.
Music
Using Logic Pro X and some sample libraries, I made a custom soundtrack. The first two tracks are played when the game is just opened and are meant to immerse the player directly in the feeling and intention of the game.
I made an ambient soundtrack that is meant to instill fear in the mind of the user. This happens when the main character is first exposed to social contact.
Finally, I created a soundtrack that is meant to be played at the end of the story. When the main character gets out of his social isolation, the music is meant to give the player a feeling of relief and gratitude.
